To Find Articles:

  1. Go to your library website using the links below.
  2. Go to the research section.
  3. Click on the name of the desired research database. Good examples are listed below.

NOTE: You will usually be required to log in using your library card.

 

You can use the your library site to find and reserve books online, although you'll actually have to visit the library to pick up your selections. There's a lot of material that is NOT on the Internet, so it is a good idea to look at print resources as well as online ones.

For online resources, find the Find the section of your library's site that links to Research.

 

  1. Toronto Public Library: http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/
    Go to Books, Videos, Research & more > Articles & Online Research. Go to Articles (for academic databases that you can search), A-Z for more options, eg. subject-specific databases, or click on one of the other subject listings in the menu.

  2. Vaughan Public Library: http://www.vaughanpl.info/index.php
    Go to Book and Resources (on the left menu)> Articles and Research.   Go to General Research for a list of academic databases to help with school research. You can also use subject-specific menus to find what you need.

  3. Markham Public Library:  http://www.city.markham.on.ca/mpl/
    Markham Public Library > Research and Resources. On the menu at the left, click on Online Databases. You'll need your card.
     
  4. Richmond Hill Public Library: http://www.rhpl.richmondhill.on.ca/RHPL/
    Click on E-Resources and choose OneSearch or E-Resource List.  You may also choose subject-specific categories.
     
  5. Hamilton Public Library: http://www.myhamilton.ca/public-library
    Use the Research and Learning or Digital Collections tabs to access on-line resources.
