To Find Articles:

  1. Go to your library website using the links below.
  2. Go to the research section.
  3. Enter search terms or go to the publication.
  4. You will usually be required to log in using your library card.

You can use the your library site to find and reserve books online, although you'll actually have to visit the library to pick up your selections. There's a lot of material that is NOT on the Internet, so it is a good idea to look at print resources as well as online ones.

For online resources, find the Find the section of your library's site that links to Research.

  1. Toronto Public Library: http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/
Go to Books, Videos, Research & more > Articles & Online Research and enter your keywords.  Look for results that have the red Access Online box. Your best option is to search the Academic OneFile. You'll need your library card to read the resources.

  2. Vaughan Public Library: http://www.vaughanpl.info/index.php
Go to Book and Resources (on the left menu)> Articles and Research.   There is no subject search. You'll need to either know the Database that you want or browse one of the subject categories.

  3. Markham Public Library:  http://www.city.markham.on.ca/mpl/
Markham Public Library > Research and Resources. On the menu at the left, click on Online Databases. You'll need your card.

  4. Richmond Hill Public Library: http://www.rhpl.richmondhill.on.ca/RHPL/
Click on E-Resources and choose OneSearch or E-Resource List.  You may also choose subject-specific categories.

  5. Hamilton Public Library: http://www.myhamilton.ca/public-library
Use the Research and Learning or Digital Collections tabs to access on-line resources.
