Grade 11 Biology: University Preparation

Welcome to Grade 11 Biology! This course will help you gain a deeper understanding of the processes that occur in biological systems. Students will study theory and conduct investigations in the areas of biodiversity; evolution; genetic processes; the structure and function of animals; and the anatomy, growth, and function of plants. The course focuses on the theoretical aspects of the topics under study and there is a strong emphasis placed on developing those skills related to scientific investigation.

- May 19th, 2016: There will be a chapter quest on Monday, May 23rd.
- The quest will cover all of the chapter on circulation with the exception of
- "The Lymphatic System"
- "The Cardiac Cycle" and all of heartbeats (page 497-500)
- All of section 11.6
- Make sure you know the section on page 496 entitled "Circulation" and can explain Figure 2

- October 14th, 2015: There will be a short quiz on Friday, October 16th.
- It will cover everything we discussed regarding prokaryotes and include everything from powerpoint #4 found below.
- October 12th, 2015: Taxonomy poster assignment is due October 30th.
- October 9th, 2015: There will be a quiz on Wednesday, October 14th.
- It will cover taxonomy and prokaryotes through what was discussed in class on the 9th
